Shooting At Chicago Starbucks

Chicago Police Department reported that the shooting incident at a Starbucks in the Uptown neighborhood was not random and that they believe it stemmed from a drug transaction. The victim and the suspect are believed to know each other.

A masked gunman opened fire in an Uptown Starbucks coffee shop Thursday night on the city’s North Side killing one man and wounding two other people—including a 12-year-old boy, authorities said.

The Police said that the shootings occurred about 8:15 p.m. in the 4700 block of North Broadway Street.

The deceased was shot in the body and was declared dead at the scene, police said adding that the 12-year-old was shot in the groin and was taken to Illinois Masonic Medical Center by ambulance immediately. Fire officials said the boy was in serious-to-critical condition.
